1. Nile River
The Nile River is 6,695 km long, flowing through more than 10 countries, marking the oldest civilization in Egypt. With wild beauty but also extremely poetic, the Nile River is really an ideal destination.
2. Amazon River
The Amazon River is located in South America with a length of up to 6,992 km and the largest water flow in the world. The river basin is the Amazon jungle, the green lung of the Earth, with rich and impressive flora and fauna. The Amazon River has the largest watershed in the world with more than 1,000 tributaries weaving into a dense network of rivers, including more than 17 tributaries with a length of 1,500 km. The Amazon basin covers about 40% of the total land area of mainland South America, twice the area of the Congo Basin in Africa. The Amazon River accounts for about 20% of the total freshwater supply to the oceans.
3. Mississippi River
The Mississippi River has the 4th largest catchment area in the world. The river basin covers more than 1,245,000 square miles (3,220,000 km2), encompassing all parts of 32 US states and 2 Canadian provinces. The basin empties into the Gulf of Mexico, part of the Atlantic Ocean.
4. Yangtze River
The Yangtze River, also known by the Chinese as "the Yangtze River", is the longest river in Asia and ranks third in the world after the Nile in Africa, and the Amazon River in South America. The Yangtze River is about 6,385 km long, originates in western China and flows eastward into the East China Sea.
5. Mekong River
Mekong River is one of the longest rivers in the world, originating from the Tibetan plateau, winding through China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and emptying into the East Sea in Vietnam.
